Miss Bugs is a Bristol, UK based artistic duo founded in 2007 by artists who originally came from a background in photography and graphics. The team is known for their colorful and contemporary kaleidoscopic patterns of resin-encapsulated razorblades, drug paraphernalia, and pop culture icons which explore a common theme of society's obsession and consumption of violence.
The artist duo realize technology has not only changed the way we live, but also the way we think and communicate. Our brains are now hardwired to seek out novelty and instant gratification, which is why we are so easily addicted to our devices. We get a hit of dopamine every time we check our phones or post something on social media, and this reinforces the behavior. As a result, we find it increasingly difficult to disconnect from technology and live in the moment…and Miss Bugs sees this and creates appropriately.
